Regulation and reflexes
The male reflex is naturally fast: why body education matters more than medicine
Author: Daniel Abdallah · Published on 2026-10-20 · Updated on 2026-10-20
Short answer
The male reflex is a naturally fast nervous and muscular mechanism: its speed varies from one man to another without necessarily being an abnormality. Learning to perceive its internal signals and voluntarily engage the pelvic floor muscles belongs to body education. Daniel Abdallah’s Neuromuscular Method (MNM) is an educational, non-medical approach. Medical advice remains recommended in the event of pain or a sudden change.

A naturally fast reflex
The male body has a reflex mechanism: a chain of nervous signals and muscular contractions which, once triggered, unfolds quickly. This is not a manufacturing defect. It is how this reflex is designed: fast, automatic, and independent of the will as long as one has not learned to observe it.
Fast does not mean abnormal
The speed of this reflex varies from one man to another, and in the same man depending on fatigue, stress, arousal or context. This variability is normal. Reading every variation as a clinical abnormality often leads to seeking a medical solution to what is, first of all, a question of perception and learning.
What can be learned: perceiving and modulating
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that one can learn to locate, distinguish from the buttocks and abdominal muscles, and then engage voluntarily. Perceiving the internal signals that precede the reflex is also a skill: as with any motor learning, it is acquired through repetition, first at rest and then in context.
Body education first: the MNM approach
Daniel Abdallah’s Neuromuscular Method (MNM) offers an educational pathway in three stages: 1. mental mapping and proprioception; 2. biofeedback and individual training; 3. integration and transfer. It is neither a treatment nor a promise of results: it is a learning process, at your own pace.
When to seek medical advice nevertheless
Educational does not mean ‘without a doctor’. In the event of pain, a recent or sudden change, persistent discomfort or distress, a healthcare professional remains the appropriate person to consult. Body education and medical follow-up are not opposed: they address different questions.

Frequently asked questions
- Is a fast reflex abnormal?
- Not necessarily. Its speed varies naturally from one man to another and according to context. In the event of persistent discomfort, pain or a sudden change, seek medical advice.
- Can one learn to perceive this reflex better?
- Motor and perceptual learning remain possible in adults. MNM offers an educational pathway to identify deep muscles and observe internal signals.
- Is MNM a medical treatment?
- No. It is an educational, non-medical approach that does not replace medical advice and promises no results.
